Brazilian ambassador José Bustani, the first director of the Organization for the Prohibition of Chemical Weapons (OPCW), tried to avoid the destruction of Iraq, but was forced out under pressure from the USA. Today, similar situations are repeating themselves in the multilateral organizations.
